The iPhone 12 and 12 mini are the simplest of the four new smartphones from Apple and here are their price in Nigeria and features.
Despite being the simplest of the four, they are devices no one can cast aside. In fact, the two devices will nicely compete with the majority of Android device we have out there.
In short, if you’re wondering whether any of the two products are worth buying, the answer is yes.
However, while the paragraph above answers your question as regards whether the two phones are worth buying, there’s a lot more information I can provide you. So consider spending some time reading until the end of this content.
There are more capable variants of the new iphones which are the 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max that apple show cased at the same event.
However, before going into these details in question, I’ll like to quickly provide some information about the cost of the two devices.
iPhone 12 Price in Nigeria

The appearance of both the 12 and 12 mini are things you’re guaranteed to love. The two devices look very similar, with the major difference being their form factors; the 12 is quite bigger than the 12 mini.
But while the 12 is bigger, there are also people who’ll find the mini preferable, because of its smaller size.
Giving details about the designs of the two phones, the devices take a form similar to that of the iPhone 11.
Their front side and their rear side are also protected with Corning Gorilla Glasses. And just like the iPhone 11, they also both features aluminium frames.
As regards how the devices’ designs compare to competing products like the Samsung Galaxy S20 and the OnePlus 8, I’ll say the 12 mini and the 12 have the best designs.
Of course, there will be people who’ll prefer the S20 or the OnePlus 8 over the two iPhones’ designs, but I’m quite sure most people will prefer the designs of the iPhones.
As regards the colours these devices are available in, the products are available in black, white, red, green, and blue.
With the phone being available in black and white, lovers of simple designs, should have no problem finding a suitable colour.
And with the phone also being available in red, green, and blue, lovers of flashy colours should also have little problem finding a suitable color.
If you looking for something even more old school, maybe you will like the iPhone SE 2020 which i compared with OnePlus Nord based on their capabilities.
The 12 Mini and 12 are both powered by an Apple state-of-the-art chipset, the Apple Bionic A14.
This chipset is superior to the Bionic A13, in almost every aspect; in other words, when it comes to computing power, the iPhone 11 (and other members of its series) aren’t at the same level as the new iPhones of 2020.
In fact, neither the Galaxy S20 nor the OnePlus 8 can also be considered as good as these two new Apple devices when it comes to processing power.
Giving details about the Bionic A14 chipset, the chipset is of course an ARM-based chipset. It is made up of an hexa-core processor.
It further makes use of the big.LITTLE technology. And while the chipset of the S20 and the OnePlus 8 (the Qualcomm SM8250 Snapdragon 865) features an octa-core processor based on the DynamIQ technology, the Qualcomm SM8250 Snapdragon 865’s processor is not superior; I know this sound counter-intuitive.
But believe me when I say the Bionic A14’s processor is the superior between the two.
As regards the graphics processing of the Bionic A14, a graphics processor we’ve never seen in any other iPhone is what’s featured in the Bionic A14.
But not only is the GPU a new one, it’s also more powerful than the one featured in the A13 as it outperformed the A13’s GPUs in almost all these tests that it was subjected to.
As regards how the A14’s new GPU compares to that of the Qualcomm SM8250 Snapdragon 865, I’ll say they are roughly at the same level.
There are some tasks where the A14’s GPU triumphed over the Qualcomm SM8250 Snapdragon 865’s GPU, and there are some tasks where the reverse was the case.
In short, when it comes to graphics processing, they are better than the iPhone 11, but they are roughly on the same level as the S20 and the OnePlus 8.
The new iPhones are incredible phones when it comes to display. Their display is something you must have heard something about.
And if you’ve truly heard a lot of hype about their displays, believe me when I say their displays are really as cool as people describe them.
Compared to the Liquid Retina IPS the iPhone 11 features, these new iPhones feature a more impressive Super Retina XDR OLED display.
Samsung has always defeated almost every other phone brand when it comes to display. But this time around, I think it’s safe to say the displays on the Apple phones in 2020 can now compete with those of the top Samsung phones.
As regards how the OnePlus 8’s display compares to the 12 mini and its counterpart, the OnePlus 8’s display is far from being as good as those of theirs.
In short, when it comes to the aspect of display, these devices and the Samsung Galaxy S20 are all in the same category.
It is also worthwhile stating that the aspect of display is the major aspect where the two devices differs.
While the 12 mini comes with a 5.40-inch display, the 12 comes with a 6.10-inch display.
However, when it comes to pixel density, the devices are of about the same pixel density, thanks to the difference in their display resolutions.
As expected, 12 mini and 12 come with the latest iOS operating system, the iOS 14.
For those who are already using the OS, I bet you understand how cool this OS is. However, for those who are yet to use the OS, the OS is way more impressive than the iOS 13.
Not only does the iOS 14 come with new features, there are also loads of improvements in terms of security, design, and user experience.
And for those who have never used the iOS, you should probably consider getting any of the two iPhones, as the iOS 14 has a lot of things that make it worthwhile trying out.
For phones like 12 mini and 12, 64 GB of internal storage is what we expect. And since this storage capacity is the least you can get from these devices, Apple can be said to have met up with expectations.
However, note that if you’re the kind who stores a lot of items on their phone, you may want to consider a build coming with 128 GB of storage.
In fact, if you’ll be using your phone for over three years, I think it will make a lot of sense to choose 128 GB of storage over 64 GB of storage.
And as for those who have even more cash to spare, nothing stops you from getting a build of the phone having 256 GB of storage.
But while almost everyone agrees about Apple doing a good job in terms of storage capacity, we have a number of people who consider Apple to have disappointed in terms of the type of internal storage used for the phones.
We have people who argue that a UFS 3 storage is better than an NVMe storage. Well, this claim is not true that true.
Truly, UFS 3 storages are better than NVMe storages in some aspects, but don’t also forget NVMe storages have their strengths as well. In short, don’t get confused by those who claim Apple could have done better in this aspect.
The rear side of these devices feature the same set of rear cameras. These rear cameras in question are two 12 MP lens.
The main rear lens which is called the Apple iSight camera is also the same main rear lens featured by the 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max which are the bigger iPhones.
The Apple iSight Camera is further the same lens featured by the iPhone 11, the iPhone 11 Pro, and the iPhone 11 Pro Max.
In short, when it comes to the primary main rear camera, these devices will compete with the big iPhones.
However, don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying the picture quality of pictures taken by the these devices are going to be of the same quality as those of the other iPhone mentioned above.
The more expensive iPhones come with additional rear lenses, so don’t expect the pictures of the 12 and 12 mini to be as impressive as theirs.
Also, because the 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max have better image processing softwares, expect the phones to take better pictures, compared to the iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max.
As for the front of the phone, a 12 MP lens is what serves as the front camera.
This lens is not the same as the Apple iSight Camera on the rear side of the device but with the selfies taken by the two phones, I can confidently state that this front camera is also good at what it was designed for.
The hypes around the 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max are enough to make it seem like the 12 and 12 mini aren’t so special, but believe me when I say these two phones are also very interesting phones.
Buying them is hardly going to end up a regret, so you don’t have to hesitate. And as for those who wonder whether to choose the 12 mini or the 12, i will suggest that you consider the 12.
The main difference between 12 mini and 12 is truly only majorly the display. But believe me when I say having a display as big as that of the 12 makes the phone more enjoyable.
So unless you specifically want a smaller display or you’re on a low budget, the 12 is what you should consider.
As for those who wonder whether to choose any of the two iPhones or to choose either of the Galaxy S20 or the OnePlus 8, I’ll ask you to choose based on which OS you like better.
The phones are all generally cool, so choosing based on other things may not really be a good idea. In short, if you like the iOS 14, consider any of the two iPhones.
However, if the Android 11 OS is what interests you, you should consider the Galaxy S20; the OnePlus 8T is what you should consider if you want the Android 11 OS, but don’t have a lot of cash to spare.
