The app comes with some features which distinguish it from the DSTV mobile. They are:

1.) Live TV

With the Now app, you can watch live TV shows on your internet-enabled mobile device or computer.

You can always find channels that are airing live on the Live TV section of the app. The channels are placed into categories so that it becomes easy for you to navigate through.

With the Live TV feature, you need not worry when there is a power failure while you are watching any programme on your TV set.

All you need to do is to switch to the live TV on your Now app to continue your viewing.

2.) Catch Up

You do not need to worry again when you miss any of your favourite episodes or show because, with the Catch-Up feature on the app, you can watch shows that have already been aired.

You can also download any of the programme so that you can watch it offline when you are free.

3.) Cast to TV or bigger screens

You can cast your current screen to a bigger screen when using the app because it now supports screen mirroring technologies.

You can use Apple AirPlay to mirror your iPhone to an Apple TV or Mac computer while Google Chromecast supports both Android and IOS devices.

You should note that both devices need to be connected to the internet before it can work. You will need to connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi hotspot.

4.) Special Kids Shows

Apart from the normal kids’ channels that comes with any DSTV subscription plan, there is a special section on the app where there are a lot of shows your kids can enjoy.

The good thing about it is that you can set a PIN so that when the device is with your kids, they can not be able to navigate to any other section once you put it to the kids’ section.
