Ajereh’s family are Isoko by tribe and from Delta State through their mum, an Igbo Princess is from Umuahia, Don Jazzy’s birthplace.

After some time, the family moved to Lagos and lived at Ajegunle where the young talent grew up. While in Lagos, he studied at the Federal Government College and later moved to Ambrose Ali University, Edo State, where he got Admission to study business management studies.

Journey Into Music And His Rise To Limelight

As early as the age of 12, Mavin’s boss developed a strong interest in music and started learning how to play musical equipment everywhere he went. It wasn’t long before he learned how to play drums and bass guitar very very well.

Due to how good he was at playing drums, in the year 2000, his Uncle who was living in London then invited him to come and stay with him. His purpose was to get the young Ajere to play drums at his local church in London.

While in London the young man worked at different places including security at McDonald’s.Although he was gainfully employed over there in London, he never abandoned his interest in music and soon started learning how to produce good music.

It was over there he came in contact with fellow aspiring musicians then like D’banj, Kass, JJC, Solek, etc.

After some time, the duo of Jazzy and D’banj returned to Nigeria and started Mo’Hits Records in 2014.

The following year he produced D’banj’s first album “No long Thing” and later and later went on to produce “Run/down Funk” you up in 2006.

In 2008, he produced Wande Coal’s viral album “Mushin 2 MoHits” and the same year produce” The Entertainer “ by D’banj.

By this time the name of MoHits boss became the number one name on everybody’s lips in terms of music production in Nigeria. I could still remember every of D’banj’s songs usually starting with” it’s Don Jazzy again!”

His fame started spreading even beyond the Nigerian music industry. He soon became one of the leading producers in 2011, and American music star Kanye West employed him to work as a producer at a Very Good Beatz.

He was so good at his work over there that Kanye West brought him into work with him and American rapper, Jay Z, on the song “Lift Off” ft. Beyonce. The song became part of the Album “Watch The Throne” which was released on August 8, 2011.

Rift With D’banj

Since the inception of Mo’Hits Records in 2004, Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, who is popularly known as D’banj’ Kokomaster or Bangalee was widely regarded as the label’s music star.

His relationship with his boss, friend, and partner, Don Jazzy was so tight that the news of their breakup in March 2012 is still one of the greatest “shocker” the Nigerian Music industry has seen.

No one saw it coming (except who may be very close to the duo) but after months and months of intense disagreements, they has to go their separate ways.

Birth Of Mavin Records

Following the departure of his star singer the award-winning Nigerian music producer alongside Wande Coal, Dr. Sid, and D, Prince founded main records, the Nigerian recording label that has grown to be among the best in Africa today.

The record label has contributed immensely to the rise and success of superstars like Tiwa Savage, Koredo Bello, Reekado Banks, etc.

Great songs like “Godwin”, “Dorobucci”, “All Over”, “Malo” and so on have also been produced under the record label.

Relationship and Marriage

Mr. Ajereh is not yet married. Though he has been rumored to be in a romantic relationship with different people several times in the past, the Nigerian music producer is currently single.

While Nigerians eagerly await the coming of the day when the music icon will break the news of him getting married, the maker of the hit doesn’t be in a hurry to do it at all.
